The Army brought me to Georgia several times over the years, and eventually, it became home! My journey included time at Fort Benning, an unforgettable winter in the mountains during Ranger School, and eventually a return to the ROTC program at the University of North Georgia. Now I’m fortunate to live just outside Gainesville and serve as the Executive Director of the Institute for Peak Performance at UNG, where our mission is equipping and enabling student athletes and cadets to achieve excellence through a focus on holistic health.I’m the proud dad of three kids—two daughters who are married and a son in high school still keeping life a little crazy at home. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me somewhere enjoying the beauty of this area with my amazing wife.I’m honored to be a part of Dancing for a Cause and help raise money for organizations doing incredible work in our community that have touched my life personally. Honestly, after years in Special Operations, I’m not sure I can promise my dancing will be “special,” but since I work on Peak Performance, I’m hoping my moves will reach new peaks—though my kids might say that probably happened in the 1990s. As a new grandpa, my goal is to win hearts and minds on the dance floor—add a spin, maybe a dip, and hope my grandchild is too young to remember this performance… unless I can rely on a little Army training to two-step my way to the mirror ball trophy!
